EVOLUTION OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

Today I am going to give you an insight into how the internet and digital technology have evolved.
Let’s begin with a brief history of the internet which goes back to 1960s
There has been a dramatic evolution of the internet since then.
From ARPANET to WWW (World Wide Web).

The Internet has come a long way. It has revolutionized communications to the extent that today “The internet” has now become the most preferred medium of communication in today’s world. And now immediately after the internet digital technology has taken over us.
Then came the era of digital technology- with the global penetration of 57% of the internet, 42% of mobile, 42% of social media in the year 2019 which is expected to grow exponentially. There are a few questions associated with digital technology like How, why, where, which, etc. I am going to address a few of them.

How to search for Digital information?

There are few common search methods used on digital devices to search for information- such as Search engines (google, yahoo, bing), websites, and social networks, etc.
What are the most common products purchased online by Digital users?
The most popular category of products bought online is Clothing is almost 57%. Followed by shoes 47% and consumer electronics 42%.
With digital technology, the consumption of online videos has increased drastically. It is forecasted that by the year 2021, the average time spent by one individual on online video watching will reach up to 100 minutes every day.
Digital technology has changed consumer trends. Instead of going to any physical store for shopping, the buyers now prefer to shop online. Get reviews through websites and social media which help them to make a decision.
Over the years technology has revolutionized our world, putting everything at our fingertips. It has strengthened our relationship with elderly members of the family, friends & co-workers and has helped us to live a more comfortable life.
Looking into the current dependency of humanity on Digital technology, it’s not wrong to say that

“DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IS HERE TO STAY”.

So we should Ride the wave of Digital technology and emerge as Winners.

We would be at the risk of being marginalised by digital competitors.
